Submotion Orchestra draw on dubstep, soul, ambient electronica, jazz and dub and have rapidly built a significant reputation as one of the most intriguing ensembles to surface in the last 12 months. Their deep bass driven grooves combine with an ethereal piano, a plangent trumpet, and deft percussion to create the perfect setting for the fragile beauty ofRuby Wood's vocals and the celestial electronics of sound designer Ruckspin.

Their debut release, the Finest Hour EP lit up the world of the musical digerati unleashing torrents of Twittery and some heavy Facebook action. It also brought the ensemble to the attention of Gilles Peterson, who instantly became a believer. Mucho play on Mr Petersons show ensued, Finest hour was licensed to his Brownswood Bubblers series - a series which had already featured Jamie Woon, Flying Lotus and Floating Points - and the ultimate accolade, a Radio 1 Live at Maida Vale session

Direct from Hospital Records we have S.P.Y. sitting in the Remix hot seat, delivering a mighty and completely fresh d 'n b take on the track Having developed his own brand of original dancefloor-friendly beats SPY's ability to deftly flip between the deep and dark to uplifting and explosive anthems often catches the listener offguard. Recently S.P.Y has been flexing his considerable skills as a remixer with high-profile comissions for the likes of Deadmau5, Claude von Stroke, Zinc Ft. Ms Dynamite, Delilah as well as Hospital's own London Elektricity and now Submotion Orchestra make a worthy addition to the list of credits

Having signed his first solo 12″ release "Black Flag" (MEDIC001) and "Ghost Ship" to Med School in 2006 and 2007 respectively, S.P.Y went on to release on a wide selection of labels such as Spearhead, Soul:r, Metalheadz and Shogun Audio, before returning to the NHS fray with the anthemic "Turn The Lights Off" and grinding "Untold Future" in 2011 and then his debut album in 2012
